AMA Kapolei

The project was to create a brand identity for a new Texaco Hawai‘i location. This new gas station and convenience store is currently located in the Kapolei, Oahu. This unique location offers personal made-to-order pizza bar along with a variety of quality products and service. The goal was to brand Hawaii’s cultural history with this new and innovative food destination.

The logo is inspired from the Polynesian word “AMA”, the “AMA” is the outrigger part of a canoe. The canoe has a deep history in Hawaiian culture that takes team work and unity to move forward towards a common goal. Connecting the letters represents unity, stability, and a sense of Hawaii community.

One of the goals of the project was to brand the store and display its uniqueness. This included design of the brand pattern, interior signage, employee uniforms, and promotional collateral.

The convenience store is located in Kapolei, Hawai‘i. One of the project goals was not to be a typical convenience store but instead a destination that attracts customers providing sense of place. One of unique experiences included a freshly made-to-order pizza bar.
